Should I build in the Winter?

As we are round the corner of another year and put 2024 in the rear view mirror, we are getting questions from our valued customers whether or not they should get the ball rolling with their new home? The answer is a two parter.

Here are the reasons Inception Homes believes that you should start as soon as you are financial ready to.

#1- Start today because $1.00 today is more valuable than a $1.00 tomorrow or next year. We all know that inflation has made everything under the sun more expensive. Not just eggs and bacon but almost every material componenet that goes into the build. So, based on Inflation, the past 2 years, (and remember inflation compounds year over year, so if you have 4% inlfation in 2024 and in 2025 inflation goes to 5% that is a 9% increase from the end of 2023.) the answer is a resounding yes! Build now. Build as soon as you can.

#2- Inception loves to start projects in the winter because we can get all the land purchase with due dilligence, plan creation, estimating, options selections and city building department permitting all done and it usually takes a couple months or more to complete all the pre construction items. That way excavation and footings and foundations with flatwork can be completed the first part of Spring and that helps avoid any future concrete blankets from creating those spotty patterns that look like leopard prints on the concrete.

So, that's it. Get started as soon as you can to hedge against future rise in costs and get all the pre construction out of the way so you can get to building as soon as you can.
